Our story

Inner West Funerals was formed through a partnership between Kerri Mills and Olivia Andrews, driven by a shared vision to transform how our community experiences funerals. Our connection began at Picaluna, where we discovered our joint passion for offering more personalised and respectful services.

We actively engage families in creating celebrations that truly reflect the individuality and values of their loved one. Our commitment to transparency, collaboration, and excellence is at the heart of everything we do. We are more than just funeral directors, we are compassionate partners in your journey of remembrance.

Why Choose Us?

Choosing Inner West Funerals means selecting a team that deeply respects each and every life story. We ensure that farewells resonate with you and your family, focusing on the uniqueness of each service with meticulous care. This commitment is built on trust and is the cornerstone of the genuine support we provide.

Kerri Mills

Kerri, from Sydney’s Inner West, has been working as a funeral director, independently and with Picaluna, since 2017 and started as a funeral celebrant in 2008. Her extensive experience and her ability to connect with families enable her to work closely with you to create the perfect ceremony.

Kerri moved from the country to the Inner West at age 19 and has made it her home ever since. As a long-term resident of Dulwich Hill, Kerri has been an active member of her community for many years, volunteering at her children’s schools and other organisations, often organising or supporting fundraising events.

Kerri believes in crafting a personalised ceremony that reflects the unique personality of your loved one. Whether it's a song, the location, a religious ritual, or simply sharing a memory, each element can help connect and remember. Regardless of the style, she will deliver a ceremony with compassion and dignity.

Olivia Andrews

As an Inner West local, I am deeply connected to and passionate about our community. My decision to enter the funeral industry was inspired by personal experiences with loss and a genuine commitment to supporting others during their most challenging times. My background spans mental health, palliative biography writing, and roles as an end-of-life doula and NDIS support worker.

Through my ongoing studies for a Master’s in Mental Health and a Graduate Diploma in Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy, I hope to enrich my abilities to support families through the complexities of bereavement, offering a holistic approach that respects and acknowledges the diverse emotional needs of each family.

At Inner West Funerals, I am passionate about redefining the farewell experience to ensure that each service is a meaningful, personal reflection of every individual. Whether through traditional ceremonies, intimate gatherings in places of significance, or poignant commemorations, I am dedicated to making every service, respect and uniquely honour the life it represents.

Picaluna felt that there was a much better way to conduct funerals, and are changing the way funerals are done for the better. This change is underpinned by their core purpose to help communities to honour, mourn, celebrate, heal and rejuvenate. Picaluna also chooses to donate 5% of our profit to your choice from one of our Picaluna Charity partners.

The Picaluna partnership supports IWF in the logistics required to arrange and conduct a funeral; including transfers, registering the death with Births, Deaths & Marriages, access to a vast range of suppliers, mortuary care, and invoicing. This allows us to spend more time with you, crafting and delivering a personalised ceremony, authentic to the one you loved.
